  No wait whatsoever I just walked in and immediately got seated my waitress came right away to take my order i ordered 2 appetizers got them right away then the waiter took my order and then it also came out to me right away then i paid and left it was kind of packed so I imagined it would take like 20 minutes for my food but it didnt it was a really great place and the food was amazing definitely going here again

  We've been coming to Takeniwa consistently since my first review 8 years ago. But, sadly, this might be our last.
  
  I don't know if the owners changed, the manager changed, sushi chef.... but their sushi menu changed, and not for the better.
  
  I ordered the seaweed salad and the Maximilian roll. My wife ordered the Baked Lobster Roll. Nowhere in the description on the menu, nor any kind of icon said that it was spicy. But, that baked lobster roll was swimming in Sriracha. My sushi roll had a single line of Sriracha on it so I had to swap with her - she couldn't eat hers.
  
  Me being a chile head, I didn't mind the spice level, but the only flavor you got was Sriracha!  The "lobster" looked more like chopped shrimp but, again, there was no shrimp/lobster flavor to enjoy.... just this spicy condiment.
  
  The seaweed salad was the only redeeming part of the meal.  It was fresh, tasty with just the right amount of sesame oil. That and the excellent service from the his-first-night waiter is the only reason this review is two stars. I don't know if we'll be back.

  First timers and it was amazing!! Our waiter (I didn't catch his name) was beyond helpful!! He answered our questions without making us feel hurried or like we were a bother. Everything he recommended was fantastic!!
  The Hot Mama roll was to die for!! Just enough spice and soooo tasty. I got the pineapple fried rice and he got Pad Thai and we couldn't stop eating! We will definitely be back!!!

  I've been on the hunt for a great sushi place where my husband could get a non sushi option, where you get a lot for the money, with great service.  I think this place is pretty close.
  
  Good service, good seating, private parking, good food options at a great price. The sushi was good. The soup would've been amazing if it had been hotter (mildly warm). My husband's dish was tasty.  We ordered appetizer, lunch special and two roll special along with two drinks for $28 total before tip. We had to ask for our change back out of $50, but other than that misunderstanding, service was top notch. A solid 4 stars.

  Great place to eat and the ambience is very nice. My wife and I had our weekly date night and really enjoyed our meal.  Ruben was our server and was really good.  The manager, Eric, came over and was very welcoming and courteous. We will be back. As a matter a fact we will be back with our children and grandchildren.  You need to try it!!
